Kerja — Terms of use
Last updated: 6 October 2026.
1. Kerja and the beta
Kerja is a professional networking app for digital nomads, starting in Canggu, Bali. It helps you find people to work with: at cafés, through profiles and through connection requests. It is not a dating app.
Kerja is run by Zayd Benhacine, an independent developer (“Kerja”, “we”). Contact us at hello@trykerja.com.
Kerja is in beta. It’s free, it changes often, and parts of it may not work or may stop. These terms apply from the moment you accept them in the app.
2. Who can use Kerja
- You must be 18 or older.
- One account per person. Use your real name and describe your real work.
- Keep your sign-in to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
- Check in only at a café you’re actually at.
3. The rules: zero tolerance
Kerja has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive members. Don’t post, send or do any of the following on your profile, in a connection request or its note, in a message, or when you meet members:
- Harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation.
- Hate: attacking people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Sexual content or sexual advances. Kerja is for work: no dating, no hookups.
- Recruiting people into adult content through Kerja.
- Posting or linking explicit content. Your portfolio link can’t point to an adult-content platform.
- Spam and selling: copy-paste or mass requests, unwanted promotion, or selling to people who didn’t ask.
- Scams and fraud: fake jobs or clients, asking for money, passwords or sign-in codes, investment schemes that promise easy returns, illegal gambling.
- Pretending to be someone else, or lying about who you work for.
- Sharing anyone’s private details or photos without their consent.
- Unsafe behaviour at cafés or anywhere you meet through Kerja.
- Anything illegal where you are.
Breaking any of these rules ends in a ban.
4. How we enforce the rules
- A person reviews every report within 24 hours.
- We may remove content and ban accounts without notice when they break these terms or put members at risk.
- A ban outlasts the account. We keep scrambled forms of a banned account’s email addresses and Apple or Google sign-in IDs, so they can’t be used to sign up again.
- Kerja automatically refuses some words. Getting past that filter doesn’t make content acceptable.
- If you think we got a decision wrong, write to hello@trykerja.com.
5. Your content
What you put on Kerja (your profile, photo, notes and messages) stays yours. You allow us to store it and show it to other members, as the privacy policy describes, only to run Kerja. You must have the right to share it, and it must be honest.
6. Meeting in person
Kerja helps members meet at cafés, in public. We don’t check who members are, what they do, or whether an Instagram account is really theirs. Meet in public places, tell someone where you’re going, and trust your judgment.
Work, prices and payments agreed between members are between you and them. Kerja isn’t part of those agreements.
In an emergency, call the local emergency services (112 in Indonesia).
7. Report and block
On any member’s profile, the ••• menu has Report and Block. Blocking takes effect at once: you and that person see nothing of each other. Report anything that breaks these terms or worries you.
Safety contact: hello@trykerja.com.
8. Leaving Kerja
You can delete your account at any time: Me → Settings → Delete account. Your account and profile are removed as the privacy policy describes. Two things are kept:
- reports, for one year after we’ve reviewed them, even if either account is deleted;
- after a ban, the scrambled identifiers described in section 4.
9. The beta, as is
Kerja is provided free and “as is” during the beta. We don’t promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or keep its current features. We act on reports, but we’re not responsible for what members say or do, on Kerja or when they meet, or for agreements between members. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect losses arising from your use of Kerja. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the consumer law of your country.
10. Changes to these terms
We change these terms when Kerja changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. When we change them, the app asks you to accept the new version before you continue. If you don’t accept it, you can delete your account.
11. Privacy
How Kerja handles your personal data is explained in the privacy policy: https://legal.trykerja.com/privacy/
